1. Purpose

To ensure the safety and security of all Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana employees, each employee must obtain and wear a company-issued identification (ID) badge during working hours. 

2. Procedures

A Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana identification badge, featuring the employee’s name, program, and photo, will be issued on the first day of employment. All employees are required to wear the identification badge during working hours.

3. Responsibilities

       3.1 Human Resources

The Human Resources Department is responsible for informing employees about the contents of this policy.  In the event of a lost or stolen badge, employees must promptly notify Human Resources in the ticketing portal.   Replacement badges will incur a cost of $5.00.

       3.2 Supervisors

Supervisors are accountable for ensuring their teams are aware of and comply with this policy. They are also responsible for enforcing the use of photo identification badges for all employees within their team. 

4. Administration

       4.1 New Employees

Human Resources will coordinate with employees to capture an appropriate photograph and send badges to programs before the start date. 

        4.2 Roles Changes

In the event of a position or program change within Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana, employees will be issued a new ID badge by Human Resources. The old badge must be surrendered before a new one is issued.

        4.3 Separation

Employees should return the identification badge to their supervisor on the last day of employment. The badge is to be sent to the Human Resources Department for secure destruction.
